Social Work

The Social Work Team provides a specialist service for Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and D/deafBlind people and their families living in Cumbria. We provide a statutory service on behalf of Cumbria County Council. The service is completely confidential.

Qualified and Experienced Specialist Staff

All our Social Workers are qualified and registered with the General Social Care Council, and provide specialist assessment of needs if and when required, to help build a support package around each person. Our staff provide help and advice, working closely in partnership with other professionals and organisations.

Services Deliver Significant Outcomes

Our services achieve a number of valuable outcomes, which make a positive contribution to the quailty of life of our service users. This enables them to exercise choice and control in their daily lives, ensuring they can maximise their health, emotional and economic well-being.

Service users are treated with dignity and respect from our well established service which benefits from good leadership and management, and ensures our service users are free from discrimination and harassment.
